This hearty cut makes for a perfect Winter comfort meal for the family, whether that's dicing up and including in a casserole, or cooking whole, and enjoying with your favourite seasonal vegetables and gravy.

Topside Roast is ideal for traditional roast dinners, offering a tender and juicy centrepiece for any special meal. It's also great for making sandwiches or salads with leftover slices.

Cooking Instructions

For the perfect Topside Roast, season generously with salt, pepper, and your favourite herbs and add to a roasting tray. Roast in a preheated oven at 180°C, allowing about 20 minutes per pound for medium-rare. Let the meat rest for at least 15 minutes before carving to retain its juices.

Angus Topside Roast

The topside was tasty and tender. I Rubbed it with salt and pepper, barely covered with water, added tablespoon vinegar, beef stock and boiled it for four hours. Can do less or more depending on whether you want it falling apart or a firm cut. I use it for sandwiches and then when getting near the end of its life or drying out, gently heat slices in a gravy and have with vegetables for tea. Been doing this for years, easy, no fuss. Works with a Bolar Beef as well.
