Introducing Green Meadows Beef’s New Angus Beef + Pickle Burgers: A Match Made in Burger Heaven
Calling all pickle lovers, this one’s for you.
If you’re serious about burgers and partial to a superior pickle, then you’ll soon be salivating over these new Angus Beef + Pickle burgers from Taranaki’s Green Meadows Beef.
Teaming up with cult-favourite McClure’s Pickles, Green Meadows Beef have taken their classic burger patties, made with 100% pure free-range Taranaki Angus beef, and added sweet and tangy McClure’s Bread & Butter pickles.
The result? Succulent, tender beef patties with a subtle pickle flavour and a dash of garlic and dill.
A match made in burger heaven, there’s a reason pickles work so well in a burger, says Rebecca Caughey of Cook and Nelson, local distributors of McClure’s Pickles.
“Pickles bring sweetness, crunch and acidity to a burger and help round out the flavour experience. Whether in the burger, on the side, or now - thanks to our friends at Green Meadows Beef - added to the burger pattie itself, it’s a heavenly combination that can’t be beaten.”
Located in coastal Taranaki, the Carey family have been farming the Green Meadows land for three generations. Spread over 420 acres (170 ha) under Mt Taranaki, the farm’s herd of prime Angus steers live free range and graze happily on lush grass grown in rich volcanic soil that’s been lightly salted by the nearby Tasman Sea, and drinking fresh potable mountain water from the local community water scheme.
A family farm for 120 years, parents Joe and Margy Carey and sons Nick, Brent and Karl are all involved in the business today, which these days also includes an award-winning online and export business and a butchery store in nearby New Plymouth.
Made with premium, 100% grass-fed, sustainable and fully-traceable Angus beef, all Green Meadows Beef products are 100% gluten free and produced in family’s own production facility, also located in New Plymouth.
So, how to use Green Meadows’ Angus Beef + Pickle burgers? Now that the warmer months are here, Green Meadows Beef’s Managing Director Nick Carey suggests firing up the BBQ to maximise those tangy, smoky flavours.
“Easy, adaptable and delicious, try experimenting with different flavour combinations and toppings - avocado and tomato for summer or beetroot and egg in winter.
“Whether smashed or bun less, simple or gourmet, nothing beats a burger for an easy home cooked meal. So, level up your burger game and impress your family and friends today, with Green Meadows Beef’s Angus Beef + Pickles burgers.”
Available now at selected New World, Pak’n Save, Four Square, Fresh Choice, Supervalue and Farro Fresh stores nationwide, online at greenmeadowsbeef.co.nz and at Green Meadows butchery, 58 Katere Road, Waiwhakaiho, New Plymouth, at an RRP $12.99 for four burger patties.
