Green Meadows Beef acquired the Woodburn Venison brand in late 2018.
Started by Sally and Tony Haslett in 2000, the Woodburn beginnings were very much in line with Green Meadows - processing deer from the Haslett's own farm. The business, based in the Hawke's Bay, grew quickly and soon the Woodburn focus shifted from a 'paddock-to-plate' operation to a small-goods processor.
Sally perfected many of the venison recipes in her own kitchen and they have that home-style feel about them. We hope you'll see that venison is an easy, versatile product to cook with and can be an every-day choice around the dinner table.
